Coming from the family Apiaceae, the same as caraway varieties we know and here is the fruit it is used. Usually we call this aniseed. Anise is the flavour sweet, very aromatic and has a distinctive flavour of liquorice. It uses anise as a spice in breads, liqueurs and many different spirits, but also in food and sweets. In India, people eat it often after dinner for digestive purposes and mouth refresher. Similar to star anise but should not be confused with this!
